The Diversity Promotion Project respects diversity and is working towards a workplace where all people can play an active role. As part of this, on Friday, March 28th, we held the “Kobelco Trading Family Day” at our Osaka head office.
This event was held following on from the one held in Tokyo last July, and around 50 people took part, with the aim of improving understanding of the company among the families of employees and encouraging interaction between participants.
The event included explanations and displays of the company's products, a chance to experience a meeting with employees of overseas subsidiaries, a quiz competition, a tour of the company including the president's office, and for children, a chance to experience a pass with the cooperation of the Kobelco Kobe Steelers, and to exchange business cards with the president. Participants gave positive feedback, saying things like “I could really understand what it's like to work here,” “It was good to be able to see the environment where my family works,” and “It was fun.”
We will continue to raise employee engagement through various measures, create an attractive workplace where each individual can demonstrate their individuality, and aim to realize “the happiness of everyone,” as stated in our corporate philosophy.
